Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering business developing advanced industrial machinery. The company designs and delivers complex engineered systems used in high-performance manufacturing environments. This role offers full lifecycle responsibility, from early concept through to production and ongoing support, along with the opportunity to contribute to team development and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and assemblies
  • Lead projects from concept through to detailed design, manufacture, and delivery
  • Produce 2D and 3D CAD models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings
  • Carry out design calculations and analysis
  • Support prototype build, assembly, and testing activities
  • Manage project work to meet deadlines, cost, and quality targets

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working on machinery, equipment, or complex mechanical systems
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Experience delivering projects from concept through to production
  • Strong problem-solving and engineering judgement
  • Practical, hands-on approach to design and development work
